Different Ways To A Happier Life

Hello Friends,

Year 2012 is on the verge of passing way and we all are ready to welcome 2013. May this new year bring lots of joy, happiness and prosperous in everyone's life. Along with New Year we build new resolutions, gather our memories from the past year and learn from our mistakes to move on the path of success.

I've been inconsistent from past year or two on writing blogs... but this year want to make a resolution of at least writing 1 blog / month. One of my resolution which I want to firmly work on is to read at least one book a month it may be motivational, technical, politics, nature, biographies etc... and here I'm to start with a self-help book. I'll share major points which I believe may bring positive changes in my life and all yours as well, and it's me who have to implement first :-)

1. Congratulate yourself for what you already accomplished - Make a list of what you have done in the past year. Include everything you can think of, what books you have read? What have you accomplished at your work? What about personal goals? What have you done for and with your family? etc... Write down everything you can think of. Be sure to list even the seemingly small things. The more your list, the better. Seeing all you have done will raise your self-esteem and increase the likelihood that you will accomplish even more in the future.

2. Quieting Your Internal Critic - Your mind moves in the direction of your currently dominant thoughts. Hold your attention on what you want to create in your life, since this is what you are more likely to achieve or receive. Begin your goal setting by first identifying what you do not want. Once you've identified what you don't want, don't keep going back to it. As a matter of fact, you might want to take your "don't want" list and burn it. Now devote all of your time, energy, attention and thoughts to what you do want. This will lead towards focusing on your goals with positive outcomes. By quieting your internal critics, you can see a clear path towards your goals which increases energy in yourself and keep you energized always.

3. Within You Is The Power To Change Your Life - Success is a result of practicing simple principles daily and progressing a little at a time until, one day, you reach your goal. Success is a matter of staying focused on what you want. Believe in yourself, follow your heart, live your dreams, and remember the biggest secret - within you is the power to change your life.

4. Appreciate And Acknowledge The Abundance In Your Life - The keys to having more of what you want, whether it's more prosperity, health, time, love or anything else, is to first acknowledge that which you already have, and then to share it. By appreciating and acknowledging, for example, the health you already have, you are putting your attention on health, which is the only way to obtain it in greater measure. You cannot focus, as so many people do, on illness and obtain better health. It violates universal laws. So your first exercise is to choose those areas in your life you'd like to improve. You may also want to include love, career, and yes, money for they too are important. Ideally, we want to achieve a balanced life that is prosperous in all areas.

5. Follow Your Passion - What is the passion you're distracted from? Maybe it's your relationships. Have you been less than fully committed, choosing instead to just coast along, expecting it to take care of itself without input from you? What about your career or business? Do you still have the passion you had when you began, or you have become complacent, just going through the motions? Renew your passion. Ask few simple questions and work on it to get back on track.
  1. What is your passion? What have you always felt strongly about?
  2. Why did you want this in the first place? What drove you?
  3. How does doing this make you feel?
 6. What Do you Love to do? - Some of the wealthiest and most successful individuals in the world are known to make statements like, "I'm having so much fun; I can't believe I get paid for this." This type of sentiment reflects what it feels like to express your natural gifts and do work that you are absolutely passionate about.
Finding your passion:
  1. What is it that you've always been good at?
  2. What is it that you do just because you enjoy doing it?
The answer to above questions will guide you towards your true calling, your passion. If you're persistent and keep following your internal guidance and intuition, you may be one of those fortunate people who can honestly say, "I would do this even if I didn't get paid for it."

7. Are You Setting For Small Goals? - Setting goals, visualizing their achievement, and of course, taking action, have enabled me to transform my life and create a life that is beyond anything. I once read that if you can become clear about what you want for the coming year, on your birthday, you can achieve it. Your important goals should, at the same time, excite and challenge you.  Ask yourself below questions:
  1. If you knew you would not fail, what great dream would you attempt?
  2. What one action will you take in the next 24 hours to begin moving toward it?
8. How Exciting Are Your Goals? - Written goals will change your life. Spend some time thinking about what you'd like your life to be like. For the sake of this exercise, let's set goals you'd like to have accomplished one year from now. What would you like for your relationships? What about your health, career and finances? What would you like to do, be and have? Do your goals make you want to jump out of bed each day, eager to get going? At any age, having a goal that is bigger than you will spark your creativity and get you moving in the direction of your dreams.

9. Don't Push Your Goals - You're probably asking yourself, "Why would anyone want to push his or her goals away?". After all, our goals represent what we want in our lives, right? You think to yourself, "I'd like a new car." The very next thought is, "That's ridiculous! I can't even afford the car I have now. How can I get a new car?". If you want to live a wonderful life, achieving your goals and being able to enjoy what you want in your life, you must first change this "knee-jerk" reaction. You must silence the negative, limiting thoughts in your mind. Even if your goal is totally outrageous, you must remain open to the possibilities of achieving it if you intend to succeed. There will be plenty of time for a "Reality-check" later.

10. Let Go and Let God -The hardest thing for anyone to do in any situation is to detach, yet it is one of the most important steps in manifesting what you want. Whatever it is you desire, the process is essentially the same. Create a clear vision of what you want, add as much details as possible, extract a specific goal from your vision, write it down, and then take whatever action you are inspired to take. The Bible advises us to ask for what we want and then believe that we have already received it. By the grace of God and through the power of your mind, you will be inspired to take certain actions or will be guided to new resources to help you achieve your goal. Relax, let go, and enjoy the journey!

I hope above points do make positive changes in our life and bring success in our journey.

Habits that can Change your Life in 2012

Habits that can Change your Life in 2012

Habits that can Change your Life in 2012

Developing good habits is the basic of personal development and growth. Everything we do is the result of a habit that was previously taught to us. Unfortunately, not all the habits that we have are good, that’s why we are constantly trying to improve.

The following is a list of practical habits that can make a huge difference in your life.
You should treat this list as a reference, and implement just one habit per month. This way you will have the time to fully absorb each of them, while still seeing significant improvements each month.

Health habits
  1. Exercise 30 minutes every day. Especially if you don’t do much movement while working, it’s essential that you get some daily exercise. 30 minutes every day are the minimum recommended for optimal health.
  2. Eat breakfast every day. Breakfast is the more important meal of the day, yet so many people skip it. Personally, I like to eat a couple of toasts in the morning along with a fruit beverage.
  3. Sleep 8 hours. Sleep deprivation is never a good idea. You may think that you are gaining time by sleeping less, when in reality you are only gaining stress and tiredness. 8 hours are a good number of hours for most people, along with an optional 20 minutes nap after lunch.
  4. Avoid snacking between meals. Snacking between meals is the best way to gain weight. If you are hungry, eat something concrete. Otherwise don’t. Update: for clarification, I mean don’t eat junk food between meals, but eating real food it’s ok.
  5. Eat five portions of fruits and vegetables every day. Our body and brain loves getting vegetables and fruit, so I highly recommend eating as much of them as possible. Five portions is the dose that’s usually recommended by many health associations.
  6. Drink one glass of water when you wake up. When you wake up, your body is dehydrated and needs liquid. Make the habit of drinking one glass of water after you wake up in the morning. Also, drink more during the day.
  7. Keep your body clean. I don’t advise spending your day in front of the mirror, but a minimum of personal care does never hurt.
  8. If you smoke, stop it. There’s no reason to smoke anymore, and quitting is possible.
  9. If you drink, stop it. Same as above. Don’t think that alcohol will solve your problems. It never does. The only exception is one glass of wine per day during meals.
  10. Take the stairs. This is just a hack that forces you to do a minimum of exercise. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs.
  11. Practise Yoga. The centuries old Indian system has been proven to help you from many diseases and keep you fit. Also if you cannot join a class may be you can do meditation / breathing techniques.
Productivity habits
  1. Use an inbox system. Make the habit of keeping track of all the ideas and things that comes to mind. You can use a notebook to do this, and then sync everything on your computer.
  2. Prioritize. If you have a list of things to do, where do you start? One way is to prioritize your list. If you are in doubt, ask yourself: “If I could only accomplish one thing today, what would it be?”
  3. Plan, but not too much. Planning is important, and you should decide in advance what you are going to do today or this week. However, planning for more than a few weeks is usually inefficient, so I would not worry too much about that.
  4. Wake up early. Waking up early in the morning is a great way to gain extra time. I personally like to wake up at 5 am, so that by 9 am I have already accomplished what otherwise would have taken me many days..
  5. Check your email only twice per day. Email can easily become an addiction, but it’s usually unnecessary to check it every 10 minutes. Make an effort and check your email only once or twice per day, see if the world will still rotate as before after you try this.
  6. Eliminate unimportant tasks. Being busy all day does not mean you are doing important stuff. Eliminate every activity that’s not important, and focus on what really matters.
  7. Clean off your desk and room. Having a clear room and desk is important to maintain focus and creativity.
  8. Automate. There are a lot of tasks that you need to perform every day or every week. Try to automate them as much as possible.
  9. Set strict deadlines. When you do something, decide in advance when you’re going to stop. There’s a rule that states that you will fulfill all the time you have available for completing a task, so make an habit of setting strict deadlines for maximizing your productivity.
  10. Take one day off per week. Instead of working every day, take one day off per week (for example sunday) where you are not going to turn on your computer. Use that time for doing recreational activities like going for a walk.
Personal Development habits
  1. Read 1 book per week. Reading is a good way to keep your brain active. With just 30 minutes per day you should be able to read one book per week, or more than 50 books per year.
  2. Solve puzzles. Quizzes, word games, etc. are all good ways to exercise your brain.
  3. Think positively. You are what you think, all the time.
  4. Make fast decisions. Instead of thinking for one hour wherever you are going to do something, make your decisions as fast as possible (usually less than 1 minute).
  5. Wait before buying. Waiting 48 hours before buying anything is a tremendous money saver, try it.
  6. Meditate 30 minutes per day. A great way to gain clearness and peace is through meditation. 30 minutes are not a lot, but enough to get you started with meditation.
Career habits
  1. Start a blog. Blogging is one of the best way to put your word out. It doesn’t have to be around a specific topic, even a personal blog will do. If not maintain an online diary. Or write notes on Facebook. Share your thoughts with the world. Over time you will have plenty of ideas to build on and show others.
  2. Build a portfolio. If your job is creating stuff, building a portfolio is a great way to show what you are capable of. You can also contribute stuff for free if that applies to your work. If you are good at photography then take many photographs and create an online portfolio (flickr, picasa, facebook) and build on it.

  5. Push: Push yourself. Physically, mentally, you gotta push->push->push.
  6. Serve: Serve others (society) something of value.

Hello Friends,
I'm back after a long time, to write something on my blog... Last weekend, I was out for chicago trip and it was awesome.. The snap which you are seeing is taken on "Willis Tower" .. 8th tallest building in the world.. It is located on the 103rd floor of the tower. It is 1,353 feet (412 m) above ground and is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Chicago. Tourists can experience how the building sways on a windy day. They can see far over the plains of Illinois and across Lake Michigan to Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin on a clear day. It takes about 60 seconds to soar to the top.

The experience of standing on glass balconies is mind-blowing.. This glass balcony is extended approx. 4 feet over Wacker drive from the 103rd floor. The all-glass boxes allow visitors to look through the floor to the street 1.353 feet (412m) below. Huh, wat an legs were shivering when i stepped into that balcony.
